CORSICANA Oct. 2fr The jury which heard the injunction suit
to keep the ntmt of Earle B. Mayfield Democratic nominee for
United States senator off the election ballot next month tonifht re
turned a verdict against Mr. Mayfield on twelve of the twenty one
questions propounded by Judge Scarbrough.
The temporary injunction restraining Secretary of State Staples
from placing Mr. Mayfield1 s name on the November ballot will re
main in force until the case is finally disposed of by the State Su-
preme Court where it is now on appeal according to statement
made by Judge Scarbrough when asked by the Associated Pre
what effect a verdict unfavorable to Mr. Mayfield would have.
