Tho subject lam night was "The
New Birth."
Mr. Adair said that some people
think the new birth Is out of date
but I want to tell you If you are ever
saved It will be tn date for you.
.M-n today are trying to find the
way to God through their Intellect.
You an't teach men to be good. The
new birth Is not reason but If you
are ever going to get Into the king-
dom of God you mu.it be born Into It.
You may talk all you p!-ase about re-
forn.iiu' but a man mut be cleansed
within. The Bible says that jpu
can l even see the kingdom of heaven
without the new birth.
"The moral (inn dws not need to
boa-t of bis goodness. The old phar-
asee who brags upon himself Is the
blgk.--st literate on earth. Ingratitude
Is one of the worst una of which a
man can be guilty.
"When a fellow gets religion some
jieople say. Oh it Is Ju-t a psychologi
cal cycloi.-. that hit bin;. Thank God
one bit me alxut eight years ago and
I quit drinking whiskey and paid my
debts. Others say It Is all excite-
ment. Well thank God I got excited
and am living rlU.
")t takes courage to be born again.
The trouble with men In Aryan is that
they haven't courage to do the
Pome of you fellows have spouted off
too much and you will hav too much
to take back if you get right with
God. I want to say that. if you are
born again things will be changed to
your life. If some of you rooster
would be born again people would
know it. Your wife w ill know It even
the dogs and rats will know It. The
devil la ashamed of some of you fel-
low. If I were some of you I would
quit when the devil wa ashamed of
me. God have mercy on one of these
little saphead fellows who says I would
be a Christian but I am afraid some
other saphead will laugh at me. Son
If your brain were wood they would
not make a crutch for a chlgger.
"Another trouble Is that some want
to be born Just like other people.
Some want to shout and others want
to come through dry-eyed. Nobody
has the same experience when God
saves them. God help us not to wait
on feeling but quit oar sins. The
man who goes on feeling generally
gets left."
At the close of the sermon there
were five conversions. People were
testifying all over the house last night.
Mr. Adair declared that it was the
best testimony meeting during the
whole time of the meetings. There
were 3f2 attending the prayer meet-
rngs yesterday.
There will be an extra amount of
stove placed in the building today
and people will be made comfortable
tonight so don't fail to be there.
