Dear friend
Yours to hand some few days ago and glad to hear from you all
thes few lines leaves me not so well. Jo my legs herts me so I
am not able to wal k but verry 1 i ttle. I ly on they bed most of
my time only when they Dinner bell Rings then I move. Yess we
have a Bell to Ring, nice one too.
Well Jo crops is verry good. Pa will make three Bails of
cotton and 100 or more Bushels of corn. he is making up his
Ribbon cane Surip now. he Put up 10,000 Stalks for seed and they
say he will make over 200 gal Ions of molases. had 27 big loads
for to mules, make more than 10 gallons to they load so you can
guess how much i t will make. well his Renter will make 5 bails
of cotton so he will get some there, tho we are in Debt Jo and
hard to get out.
Well I will tell you of some of they weddings has bin and will
be before long. I guess you heard of Rease Dean and your Cousin
Lousie Holcomb marring some time ago. Your Uncle Louis has a
Son-in-law at last. Jerry Florence and Ellis Norris married few
days ago. your Uncle Louis performed they Serrimoney for them.
Harden Bird and Lizzie Bell married a few days ago. Tom
Harrington and a girl of Rusk county married too. Virginnia Coke
and henry Ivans wil 1 marry be fore you get this. Yess Jim
Tennison and a widow married last weel for dad married them. Jo
McCorkle and Moll i e Moore will marri e before you rec i ve th i s
letter. Jim Gray and Mollie Grisom is trying to fix it up tho I
think they will fail.
I guess you heard of Uncle Sam Frank Johnson beaing Ded, dide
last Summer. I do not no where I rote it to you or not so long a
go.
Daniel is bording at Taylor Barrons going to School at Sharp
top. John Ham i l ton sold his home place and moved to the back of
his field, sold to a Mitchell , 100 acres, 448 Dollars.
Well Jo I think you had a good trip. wish I could get round
that way the i t hurts me so I cant leave home. tell Charley and
Jim to come up and see me and louis, tell Bud I nead some of
that cotton crop and I will Beat him out of it if he comes up
here the come if he can,
we have one end of the hous tore Down now tho Ithey will get it
up be teen this and Spring so all of you come soon as you can.- 10 -
