Edward L., and Mrs. Everett Collins, and only two are
living now; Mrs. Bogel passed away two years ago.
Until 1897, Judge Bogel was one of the largest
producers of wool in this region. Since retiring from
the sheep industry his attention had been given to
cattle. Mr. Bogel was one of the largest stockmen of
Presidio County. His ranch which was established in
1898, is located at San Esteban, twelve miles south
of Marfa.
During his residence in Marfa Judge Bogel had
accepted many positions of trust. On November 6, 1900
he was elected County Judge and County Superintendent
of Public of schools of Presidio County, which he
held for twelve years.
