WASHINGTON, DC — This is the winning design for the proposed World War II Memorial slated for the Rainbow Pool,
between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. It will honor all those who served and sacrificed in WW II, both
in uniform and on the home front. Designed by Friederich St. Florian [as reported in the HCN's DIV HQ column, Mar. '97], the
$100 million memorial will be funded through private donations, with dedication scheduled for Veterans Day 2000.
