at the right time last year.
Glad .you all hiad a real nice
time. I did motor to Hi'lstooro,
Ohlio and had a short visit with

nice seeing Warren again after

REUNION DATES ARE SET
At a very successful mid-winter meeting held at the Brown
Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, January 25, 1964 it
was decided that the reunion dates will be July 30, 31 and
August 1.
Your secretary was very much impressed by the amount of
advance preparation that has already been made to assure
everyone who attends an exciting and memorable time. The re-
union committee under the leadership of A1 Lysinger have really
proceeded in a business-liktf and assuring manner to make the
arrangements for a wonderful reunion. Your executive officers
and council members left Louisville with the feeling that every-
thing was well under control.
Those present at the meeting were John V. Clarke (HQ/56)
president, Grady Rowell (SV/714) 1st vice-president, Harold Hend-
ricks (A/134) 2nd vice-president, William Johnson (B/714) past
president, Larry Mintz (152) secretary, Albert Lysinger (DIV/HQ)
3rd vice-president and Louisville reunion chairman with wife La-
Verne, and the following reunion committee members Owsley
Costlow (A/23), Joseph Ross (HQ/56) and Edward Sheehan
(MED/66). Two additional committee members who were un-
able to attend are Henry Sadlo (A&C/17) a.nd Paul Belshoff
(HQ/17).
As in the past the sole objective of the reunion committee
planning has been to give our members a reunion that they can
write their buddies about with an abundance of enthusiasm.
They certainly have the ingredients.
The Brown Hotel contains every facility conducive to your
comfort and enjoyment. It is completely air-conditioned for your
comfort. For those planning to drive parking is furnished FREE
by the hotel and there is no charge for taking your car in a.nd
out of the parking area. The hotel is centrally located and
there are enough shops, places to dine, nite clubs, theatres and
points of interest to suit everyone's taste. Watch for further
information and highlights in following Hellcat News issues.

ON THE LIGHTER
SIDE
Aside from the serious busi-
ness of the mid-winter meeting
there were also a few moments
for a Little reminiscing and an
excellent dinner Saturday eve-
ning in the Blue Grass Room
of the Brown Hotel. I wish I
could have recorded the tales
of the He'Ulcaits as narrated by
John Clarke and Ed Sheehan.
These two fellows had an in-
exhaustible supply of stories
that kept the rest of us enter-
tained for hours. Joe Ross had
a few to tell too. Bill John-
son got a word in occasionally
and Harold Hendricks persisted
on trying his jokes out on a
captive audience. Grady Rowell
just sat there and sipped his
bourbon and mix silently. After
each story he was heard to say
"Gentlemen you are always
welcome in Charlotte." As for
.your secretary well he just
listened. After all these years
I finally got the real low-down
on what went on during those
19 months overseas. How could
a fellow know what was going
on from a signal corps tech
truck with blackout curtains
and a back-log of battery boxes
to make up for the officer's
electric shavers?
TAPS
It is with deep regret that
we inform our members of
the passing of John Allen-
der (SV/494) who had been
a member of our association
at one time. He was stricken
with a heart attack on Oct.

received this sad news from
John's sister - in - law Mrs
Frank Allender and he in
turn relayed it to us.
As is reported in the 56th
AIB unit report the associa
tion has just found out a
bout the death of Sgt. Mus-
tain, the mess sgt. for B/56,
who passed away on Jan. 11,
1953. This news was relayed
to Vic Challen by Jim Read
(B).
