The HELLCAT NEWS
Mr. and Mrs. Louisville Reunion
To those of you who may know them it is our pleasure to
introduce LaVerne and A1 Lysinger (DIV.HQ.) your official hostess
and host for our 18th Annua.1 Reunion to be held at the Brown
Hotel in Louisville, Ky. on July 30, 31 and Aug. 1.
Much To See In Louisville
Louisville offers much of current interest to visitors. The
Kentucky Derby is a vital part of her present as well as her
past and a trip to Churchill Downs, with it's racing museum,
will prove pleasant to visit. Louisville has five major cigarette
factories and 21 distilleries in the vicinity of Louisville. Louis-
ville is also the home of the Louisville Slugger bat and it's
manufacturing plant houses a wonderful baseball museum. In
Louisville, you'll see the world's largest appliance factory, the
world's largest wheel tractor plant, and the largest synthetic
rubber plant in existence. All these companies are happy to
arrange tours.
Visitors will also enjoy Louisville's modern department stores
and shopping centers; as well as her many places of enter-
tainment.
Louisville, Ky. Centrally Located
Louisville, only 150 miles from the center of population of
the United States is easily accessible from any part of the country.
It is well served by a fins network of national and inter-state
highways — has excellent bus facilities — eight railroads — and
six major airlines. Louisville's Standiford Field is unique among
airports in being only 10 minutes from the center of the city.
John A. Preitauer (B/17) 505
West 7th, Ogallaila, Nebraska:
— "Pishing and hunting is
good. Why don't same 12th Ar-
mored show up here. We have
the huge lake MicConaughy with
over 120 miles of shoreline.
Would send any Hellcat all the
information on points of inter-
est near and. around this city
of Ggallala, the cowboy capi-
tal ai Nebraska."
Arthur H. Ernst (C/17) 813
7th Ave. S. E. Austin, Minn.: —
"Sure do enjoy reading every
word of the Hellcat News. I
haven't been able to make a
reunion but I'm still hoping. It
sure sounded like everyone had
a wonderful time at the last
one Keep the Hellcat News
coming."
REPORT FROM
134TH ORD BN
UNIT REP
Your news tihis month is be-
ing written fr'om the Brown
Hotel here in Louisville, Ky. I
had to make this winter meet-
ing to be sure we got our par-
ty room for the 134th like Pin-
no arranged for in Sit. Louis —
and we have it, the Louis XIV
room, and at no extra charge,.
Louis has promised to vacate
the room before we geit there.
He is moving in with Marie
Antoinette.
This is only one of the spe-
cials that the association re-
union committee arranged. I
think that tlhe highlight for all
of us will be the trip to Fort
Knox on Friday July 3>lsft at
10:00 A.M. A tour cf all the
new equipment, the Patiton Mu-
seum, where there are pictures
and history of the 12!tih Armd.
They say here you can't see
everything in one day. There
also may be a fire power show
if it can be fitted into the train-
ing schedule for this dlay. Here
is something I'm sure everyone
in your family will enjoy and
better yet our association wiil'l
pick up the tab for tramsporta-
tion and lunich. So please make
your plans for a Thursday or
early Friday morning arrival.
There was a lot of hard work,
effort and wire pulling to geit
this set up so don't miss it.
The reunion committee has
also succeeded i n getting us
the lowest hotel rates since
Charlotte, N.C. Two wonderful
orchestras for' our Friday and
Saturday dance, and the same
successful pattern that Barry
Keittler set up in St. Louis for
the teenagers and youngsters
wlill be followed.
So I'm giving everybody fair
warning to make their plans
now, not to miss this reunion.
I also found out from Larry
Mi'rntz the new association ros-
ter of names and addresses will
soon be ouit, and mailed to the
paid up members, so if any of
you fellows are delinquent pay
up. Larry also siaid he will send
extra copies of our June re-
union edition of the Hellcat
News to anyone who would like
to send them to a non-member.
Just write Larry or myself and
help build the 134th member-
ship in the association.
Had a wonderful surprise the
other evening when the miayor
of Custer, Ohio and his wife
dropped in, no one else but
Ray and Ange'lia Richardson,
It seems Ray was in Chicago,
looking for Fire House doors
that open to four directions. If
you remember Ray became
Mayor when the town split over
wihich wtay to face the fire-
house. Capable, and level think-
ing Richardson solved the prob-
lem fast, he moved the loeiation
of the fire house.
Personal me mo to Leroy J en-
kins: I've run out oif jokes for
the column. I used them all up
from the Automobile Suppl y
Magazine. Please send me addi-
tional copies. Here are my last
two:
Russia can wipe us out with-
out firing a single shot, merely
by poisoning the glue on trad-
ing stomps.
Two cement mixeirs got mar-
ried and two years later had
a sidewalk running around the
house.

DO WE HAVE YOUR
CORRECT ADDRESS?
As most of you know the
secretary's office is planning to
start on a new roster after the
first of the year. Be sure that
we have your correct address.
If you move let us know. If
you can't write -- PRINT and
if you can't print — WRITE
Whatever you do please don't
just leave it up to the post
office to inform us. Many of
the addresses come to us in a
broken handwriting that is diffi-
cult to decipher and then when
we do feel that we have brok-
en the code the mail is re-
turned to us bearing the mes-
sage "no such street or no such
post office" and we have to
try again. Besides the extra
work involved there is also con1-
siderable unnecessary expense.
Therefore your cooperation will
be greatly appreciated.
William H. Horrell (B/66) 347
Spring Hill Rd., Danville, Ky.:
"Sorry that we again had to
miss the reunion. Last year we
were on our year's active duty
at Fort Chaffee and this year
Bill has two weeks at Fort
Knox and two weeks at Ft.
Benning. Hope the reunion was
a blast. Remember us to the
Sabins. We know they never
miss one. We are still hoping
for a future reunion at Camp-
bell." Signed:- Jeanne Horrell
