Annual Report
The By-Laws of the 12th Arm-
ored Division Association require
the president to submit a report
of the affairs of the corporation
at the annual membership meet-
ing. The report can be made in
one enthusiastic word, "Great".
However, there are many com-
ponent parts to that word.
We jumped from a highly suc-
cessful Philadelphia reunion into
a year filled with progress and
activity. Memberships, which
started to come in early at a fast
pace, reached an unprecedented
total of 1484. A gain of 180 over
last year's total. 1st V.P. Vic
Challen had set a goal of 1414
members but, with ready help of
Harold Hendricks, hard working
unit reps and enthusiastic mem-
bers, a far greater number was
attained. This figure more than
doubles our membership of just
nine years ago.
The prosperity of our member-
ship increase has been reflected
in a healthy financial report from
Treasurer Nicholas Hardony
who's annual report showed a
substantial gain for the year.
Having Nick's financial genius
control our money has been a
wonderful asset to the association.
The annual mid-winter meeting
was canceled this year. It was
quite evident that the caliber of
our reunion committee, consisting
of Jack Miller, Nick Hardony and
Dave Glontz, insured a successful
reunion and nothing could be
gained by this meeting. The as-
sociation was spared this unnec-
essary expense.
The annual Midwest Chapter
Dinner-Dance was hosted by
Bomby Bombasaro in Joliet on
March 8 and Norm Thompson
guided the Western States Chapter
to a successful second annual gat-
hering in Las Vegas on May 30.
Both of these chapters have great-
ly aidsd the growth of our associa-
tion.
Perhaps the most outstanding
event of our year was the present-
ation of the 12th Armored Divis-

The importance of our monthly
Hellcat News has once again been
stressed this past membership
year. Harold Hendricks has done
a superb job of providing us with
a lovely, informative newspaper.
He has received wonderful co-
operation from unit reps and other
member contributors who are
striving to keep our monthly edit-
ion the best ever. Being a mem-
ber of the Fourth Estate myself,
I realize the importance of news
contributions. Therefore, during
the course of this past year, Har-
old has received 49 stories from
my typewriter and 41 pictures
from my camera.
At the start of my year as pre-
sident, I asked for the associat-
ion's cooperation during my term
of office which I dubbed, "Make
it Happen Year." I cannot put
into words my expression of grat-
itude for the overwhelming aid I
received in each pha^e of the
year's undertaking. You gave me
your full support — you made my
"Make it Happen Year" dream
come true — you made a great
association greater. You, yes,
each officer, unit rep and mem-
ber have continued the momem-
tum of the association's growth
during the past year. Please, I
beg of you, give your same back-
ing to your president in the year
ahead.
To one and all I say "Thanks"
and God Bless you all!

Pres. 1968 - 1969
