As this is being written, it is
about as cold as "charity" in Texas.
Someone must have left the gate
open in the barb wire fence along
the North border. It is to get to
25 tonite, according to the weath-
erman.
The Presidential assistant, in
explaining the missing parts of the
Watergate tapes, states that the
"gremlins" might have had a part
in it. Apparently, that is what
happened when the name of Mark
turned out to be MARY Terry in the
Feb. issue. Our apologies.
Many thanks for the dues and
boosters from Albert Gaus (Hq)
who has moved to 9391 Center Rd.,
Fredonia, N. Y. 14063; Paul Leppo
Jr. (Hq); Dan Rolls (Hq); Joseph
Laurie (A); Harles Miller (B) and
Richard Irwin (Sv).
Also, many thanks for the dues
from J. V. "IKE" Rinker, George
Wagner, George Kachuris and Rob-
ert D. Miller of (Hq); George H.
Biddle (C); Pierre M. Serve! and
George W. Allen (B); John Mazzant,
Rex Higdon, Owen Yarborough,
Ralph A. Smock and Edward J.
Messmer (A).
We have a nice cheery letter
from Al Lepon (Hq). Al might be a
bit on the disabled side but has
not lost the old sense of humor
from WW II days. He writes: "As
you no doubt heard, I'm lucky to
be here at all having been through
two open heart surgery's but luck
has been on my side. I'm still sub-
jected to attacks of Angina Pect-
oris but with a registered nurse
(still working) to take care of me
and oxvgen and medications I keep
on going. Needless to say, I'm a
veritable shut-in but have a hobby
to keep me busy when feeling welk
My neighbors converted my garage
into a hobby room for me and I
work with model trains and love it.
"Anyone who has any old American
Flyer or Lionel trains collecting
dust, I'll be glad to buy them & pay
United Parcel postage as I'm trying
to build up the hobby." Al lives at
700 Andover Drive, Burbank, Calif.
91504. Al also said that their oldest
son is married, with one child, and
is ass't mgr. of a bank, second son
is working for his masters in coll-
ege and working. He was a Chinese
linguist during the Viet Nam Affair.
Their daughter, age 19, is still at
home and engaged. His wife, Mary,
is Ass't Head nurse at St. Joseph
Medical Center in Burbank.
Al LePon was one of the many
capable Znd Lieutenants that join-
ed the Division at Campbell and
just fresh out of OCS located high
above the Chattahoochie and near
the Upatoi. The graduates jokingly
called it the Benning School for
Backward Boys but the Army re-
ferred to it as the "Infantry Sch-
ool", Ft. Benning, Ga.
Bruce Arndt (B and Sv) writes
that he and his wife, Hazel, hope
to attend the reunion in Minnea-
polis. They have been rather busy
and did not get to send out the
usual number of xmas cards. Their
son was married in Phoenix on
December 28th. The family, other
than Bruce, flew down for the wed-
ding. Bruce drove his neighbors
car to Phoenix since the neighbor
was moving to Arizona. They return-
ed to Anchorage Jan. 4th.
Incidentally, if you plan to attend
the Minneapolis reunion, please let
us know. There is nothing that
would encourage your friends to
attend than to know that you would
be there. If the gas shortage is a
problem — then the planes still
fly. We have found that Amtrack is
quite enjoyable if you have the
time.
Jim Bosworth (Sv) says it is al-
ways hard to believe and accept
that it is almost 30 years since we
were separated from the service.
Harles Miller (B) said that he
surely hated that he couldn't get
to the last reunion but they were
building a new home and could not
make it. They hope to make the
next one.
George Kuchuris (Hq) writes;
"Our son, George, Jr., married in
July. He was born while I was
stationed in Abilene with the 12th.
Our son, Chris, is going to college
studying Psychology. He wants to
teach. We are really proud of our
sons. Hi to all."
Robert Miller (Hq) went back to
work Nov. 1st after being off for
18 months. His company created a
job since Robert can only do work
with his hands. He had had a
heart condition. He hopes to get to
the '74 reunion but is not sure how
things will work out. Their oldest
son is in the 101st Airborne at the
12th Arm'ds old base of Camp
Campbell. The son sent along a
clipping about the retirement of
the 12th Armored Colors.
George Wagner (Hq) hopes to be
at the Joliet reunion (Midwest). He
tried to locate Harold Hendricks,
Our Secretary, when he came thro-
ugh Maple Park, III., but was not
successful. Harold, how about tell-
ing us where to locate your office
and home.
Ralph Smock (A) hopes to makes
the '74 reunion but is not making

and definite plans due to the gas
shortage. He said that he enjoys
reading the Hellcat News.
The sports news carry quite a
bit about Mohammed Ali or Cassius
Clay. I might add that Henry B.
Sadlo (A & C) has been, for many
•years, the prize fighters attorney.
The newspapers never seem to
mention the attorney in the back-
ground.
Bob and Ann Gesin (Hq) would
like for any "Snowbirds" that hap-
pen to winter or be in the Miami
or Florida area to contact them at
P. O. Box 1081, Homestead, Fla.
33030.
The Clair Mummert's toured the
western part of the U. S. and enjoy-
ed the '73 reunion. They covered
parts from Victoria, B. C., to Tijana,
Mex. This year they plan to go to
the seashore, Minneapolis reunion,
Germany and other places. They
suggest that Clarence Johncox get
Trinka to the reunion. Thaji would
entice Steinmetz to attend and
