PRESIDENTS
MESSAGE
Warm greetings to all Hellcats
wherever you may be this fine
day in June. As the weather
continues to improve in the East,
West, North and really gets hot
down South, we enjoy forgetting
the winter just past and delight in
the wonderful spring season.
We were gratified by the large
attendance of 200 happy Hellcats
and Hellkittens at the Eastern
Chapter meeting in Stroudsburg,
Pa. The attendees enjoyed the
perfect spring weather and usual
fun time with their friends. Hope-
fully, most will be present in St.
Louis in early July. Several mid-
westerners made the journey to
the Poconos, one couple coming as
far as Chicago. Our congratula-
tions to the Eastern with an
optimistic wish for continued
success in years to come.
In our quest to promote the
12th Armored Division Associa-
tion for as long as any of us
remain alive, we must not forget
our continuing purpose. Phrases
originated by our peers who had
such foresight include: "to further
patriotism"; "to provide an
agency through which its
members may promote the
virtues for which they fought in
World War II"; "to commemorate
the memories of their fallen com-
rades"; to enjoy the compan-
ionship of those still with us, so
long as it is the Will of the
Almighty that such companion-
ship may be enjoyed." This is
what it is all about, compan-
ionship and enjoyment. For those
who are fortunate to get together
with fellow Hellcats and Hellkit-
tens at reunions, picnics, dinners
or visits at home or in hospitals,
may you continue to share and
enjoy the priceless cameraderie.
Ed Strazdes C, 56th, the talent-
ed artist, whose G.I. art has been
so evident at recent reunions, has
come up with a great idea he
wishes to share with all Hellcats.
He is working on two booklets of
what he calls World War II
"Graffito." His creations mimic
actual antics of Hellcats during
combat with a slight twist. Man,
what a sense of humor! The
mechanics of authorization,
printing, binding and pricing are
in the works. They are certain to

create many chuckles and even
belly laughs, and are a cinch to be
in terrific demand. Continue to
watch the Hellcat News for notice
of their availability.
The 36th Annual Reunion in St.
Louis is almost upon us. The
activities have been outlined and
if you haven't made your reser-
vations - time is running out. This
is that great opportunity to enjoy
with your unit Hellcats and a
great occasion to meet many more
congenial people. We hope to see
you.
The nominating and auditing
committees are in the process of
being appointed. If you wish to
suggest a capable Hellcat for
nomination to an office for
election at the annual meeting,
please drop me a line and I shall
pass it on. The entire nominat-
ing committee has not been final-
ized at this writing. Everyone is
aware of the necessity of strong
leadership to ensure the vitality
of the future of our beloved
association.
Remember, your Hellcat
Mystery Division Association con-
tinues to be "the greatest." Let's
all continue to support it in every
way possible.
May the Lord bless each one of
you each day in every way.

lot other Hellcats and spread the
word.
A report from our Warren
Maue A/17th on the mail received
for order blanks for the Hellcat
Jackets and Caps. Just a short
time ago, he had requests for over
30 Jackets and I say that is pretty
good, also I have asked Warren to
bring some order blanks with him
to St. Louis. And once again I
want to remind you, if you write
in for an order blank, send it to
Warren Maue A/17th 4320
Germantown-Liberty , Road,
Germantown, OH 45327, not to
me, also enclose a Self Addressed
- Stamped Envelope, this is impor-
tant, as we do not want Warren
putting the postage on. One more
item to do with the Jackets, if you
want the color of your Unit, you
will have to get 12 members of
your Unit in order to order them,
and that is the minimum amount
you have to have, or else no dice.
Your saved this month fellas as
you will not have much to read,
but do not get the idea it will
always be this way, as I have run
