Tho J. L. 8. is progressing .very

Jessie Aldington is President and
Carrie Lowery Secretaiy. One of the
most interesting features ot' their work
is the "Paper'- which they edit. In
their last paper t'ley said that some
of the boys went "dog-hunting'' at
the wrong time, and that some of the
boys had been promoted to Prof. Mur-
ray's room for an unknown cause.
Th"ir paper is interesting.
There is not much demand for
smokers now.
Misses Ella Reynolds and May Bar-
tholomew favored us with a nice duet
last Friday.
Annie Merle Reynolds played us a
nice solo Wednesday morning.
The whooping students just wont
w.ioop when they are asked.
The class in General History wants
non-long lessons. Why P
Some of the students are tardy this
week. Their presence is appreciated
in room No. 1.
Mrs. Reynolds and Mrs. Conrad
were visitors last week, many thanks
for their presence.
The visit of Misses Alice Leech and
Maggie Moody was appreciated.
The Cisco Silver Rand furnished us
with a grand entertainment last Thurs-
day night.
Mrs. Crump will give an entertain-
ment next Kiidny night,. December 21
for the benefit of the Albany Public
School. Every body come. It will be
an enjoyable time.

had his name enrolled on our list.
Mr. Garvin has moved his family to
the parsonage and they are now citizens

On last Monday the Rock Island
was held up at Rod River by three
men. They got nothing from the ex-
press oar, and proceeded to rob the
passengers, from whom they got about

for 97, against prohibition 58.

R. S. Murrey and wife accompanied
by J. E. Murrey's family of Seymour
Texas, are expected to arrive in Alba-
ny to-morrow. Mr. J. E. Murrey's
family wilLvisit with the families of
Joe Gregg, Dr. Aleurn, Pink Huskey,
and E. E. whitney. Mr. R. S. Murrey
comes here to locate and will have a
position in the grocery house of E. E.
Whitney. Mr.tM. comes well recom-
mended as an all round gru • 'ry man,
and will be quite an addition to this
already noted business house. We
welcomo Mr. M. and wife to our city
and hope they may never regret com-
ing among us.
Our country people are beginning
to appreciate tho convenience of
printed stationery, ,J. L. White and
J. E. Bibb left orders with us this
week.
The Aermotor at the Albany Mill-
ing Company's warehouse was start-
ed this week, and proves itself a good
piece of machinery.
The young people enjoyed a party
at Uucle Jesse Pate's residence last
Wednesday evening.
