Monday, January 29, the West Texas icdical Center opened
its doors for the first tiim, and with it opened
another chapter in the life of MRS, CHRISTINE REESE.
i:rs, Rccse is working as a Licensed Vocational Nurse at
the Ccntcr.
She is a native of Kilgoro, Texas where she graduated
fror C.D, Dansby High School.
Other attainments in traiining and education include
the following: attending and gradua.tingn from Coleants
(Cont..on P, 2, Col, 1...SEE "CITIZN7 S .LCHIEVE....)College for a numibcr of
years.
For the past seven years
he has been in charge of thi
only city-owned swirling
pool. In his duty with tha
Su-meir Recreation Program,
there has not been one serious
accident at the pool.,
His teaching experience
covers a total of seventeen
years. Coach Valentine began
his teaching career in
a V.i school in Gonzales,
Texas, Next, he spent 5
years teaching and coaching
all of the major sports in
one of the schools in the
Gonzales Independent School
District. He coached to the
-district championship while
in Gonzales, in 195L4
Since 1956, he has taught
and coached at Woodson High
School. He coached Woodson
to the district championship
in 1958, and his Woodson
High Track Toexs were
always anong the top contenders
in the district.
Mr, Valentine is a trustee
of Bethel A.M.E.Church.
He and his wife, Anna, and
their daughter reside at
1201 Mosquitoc son, James,
is attending North Texas
State University.C
