Kress received word Saturday
that their son Lt Mack Young
has been declared dead after
being listed as missing over Japan
since June 5 1945
It is presumed he went down
with his plane when it was hit
by flak over the target Kobe
Japan
He is survived by his wife
Pansy Ray of Houston his parents
four brothers Lee Floyd
Eddy and Teddy Kress and
five sisters Mrs Vineta Cornett

Smith Stillwater Okla Mrs

Lt Young went into the Ar
Corp in 1942 taking his training
at San Antonio where he won
his navigators wings He went to
Roswell New Mexico where ho
was commissioned as a bombardier
He took advance Bombardier
training in Salina Kansas
and was serving in that capacity

John W Vaughn Swishet
County pioneer farmer and landowner
died here Tuesday after along
illness He had been a resident
of the county since 1902
He was born July 29 1003 near
Nashville Aikansas and spent his
early years in that state When
he was 21 years old he came to
Texas settling in Bell County
near Troy He was married to
Florence E Gootes in 1888 and
to this union weie bom eight
children Two sons died In infancy
and one daughter Mrs
Artie Moore preceded him In
death in 1931 Mrs Vaughn died
in 1905
Mr and Mrs Cecil Wesley and
Mrs Opal Gillespy spent July
