A terrible accident occurred on
Friday morning in the Fourth av-
enue tunnel at the Elgbty-»sixth
street station, New York. The
New Haven train from Mount
Vernon, while standing on the
south-bound side-true* in the tun*
nel, was^ run into by a Harlem
local. The two rear cars were
demolished, and, with the engine
ot the Harlem train, lie in the
tunnel. Four persous were killed
and nineteen badly injured.

Winston County, Alabama, has

session of the Baptist association at Haap^
ton cross roads yesterday, two young men
under the influence of liquor began a pis-
tol combat in the church, causing a panic
among the worshipers. Levi Bryson was
fatally shot by Jerry Cox, but succeeded
