beta highly proteoiive; yet the

forty years has left England with
its 'leaps and b mud:/ far betnnd,
while France bas nhowu a power
of recuperation and amassing
wealth which quite outrivals us.

DIPHTHERIA.
The latest and mos' successful treat-
ment for this dreaded disease has lately
come to our knowledge, and having inter-
viewed the man who says his life was
saved by the new treatment we feel confi-
dent it is our duty to give the facts to our
readers, that thev may investigate tor them
selves. The circumstances are as follow:
j Amede Chartier, of West ^arnham, P. Q..
j recently had diphtheria; he became so bad
ofl' alter a relapse that all hopes of his re-
covery wau abandoned by his physicians
I and lriends, and as a last resort a broth r
of the patient said that he had a bottle eo
Kendalls Spavin Cure and wished to try it
He applied it to the neck, and tbei»n re-,
duce a little, and the patient after some |
difficulty succeeded in gargling in the
throat. He soon noticed some improve-
ment, ami oy continuing its use a com-
plete cure was etiected, and now he says
lie knows it saved his life. The above re- 1
aaarkable experience led us to investigate
farther and we found that Kendall's
Spavin Cure has the must remarkable ef-
fect on human flesh of any remedy o
which we have ever head, and we have
become soundly converted to the opinion
that no remedyh as ever been discovered
which possessess such remarkable quali-
ies for the diseases of man as well as
toast. Every one should cut this out and
baste into a scrap-book;—Times.
