Dies In Colorado
Jim G. Jones, 76, of Cedaredge,
Colo., a native of Wheeler County
and brother of Mrs. Lillie Trostle
of Lela and Mrs. Le&nn Harvey of
Shamrock, died Saturday, Decem-
ber 7, in a hospital at Delta, Colo-
rado.
Death followed a lengthy Illness
which had kept him hospitalized
since May.
Funeral services were to be held
today (Thursday) and burial was 9-
to be tn Cedaredge, Colorado.
Mr. Junes was born in Wheeler
County on November 29, 1887. He
attended Shamrock's first school
and was a charter member of the
First Methodist Church of Sham-
rock.
As a youth he fallowed the rodeo
circuit, performing as a stunt rider.
He owned two prize horses which
he used in his acts of daring and
skill. More than 40 years ago, he
parachuted from an airplane over
Shamrock. ,

Amarillo, spoke Thursday morning
of last week to an assembly of all
girls enrolled in Shamrock High
America’s leading dress designer,
Norman Norell, created an eye-
filling wardrobe of 17 costumes for
Miss Remick In her role as a Wall
Street stock analyst.
The outfits range from what the
well-dressed white collar girl will
wear to the office to what the same
girl (if she's lucky) wears to the
Starlight Roof. They’ll give the]
ladies a look Into the fashions of
future shopping sprees.
“The Wheeler Dealers" will open
Sunday and continue through Tues-
day at the Texas Theatre.

McMurry College Band presented
an assembly program Monday
morning of this week, after ap-
pearing in a concert at the First
Methodist Church the evening be-
fore.
Among the 66 band members
were two Shamrock High School
graduates: Miss Gloria Robinson,;
daughter of Mr, and Mrs. George 1
Robinson of this city, and Lew
Carter, soil of Mr. and Mrs, Lew ;
Carter, former local residents, now ]
of Abilene.
The program was made up of a |
variety of types of music and was
interspersed with novelty numbers.
Classical and semi-classical num-
bers mingled with great marches
and season and sacred selections!

ing about all those men who went
