Local artist featured
at religious art show
Two works by local ar-
tist Mary Glover Rustay will
be featured at the second an-
nual Bellalre Presbyterian
Church Religious Art Show,
which opens Sunday, March
24, at 7:30 p.m. in the ch-
urch’s Felloship Hall.
Rustay will exhibit an oil
entitled "The Creation” and
a banner commissioned by
her brother, a minister in
Louisiana,
The banner depicts a bu-
tterfly bearing the contine-
nts of the world on its wi-
ngs with the inscription, “
For with God nothing shall
be impossible,” Luke 1:37.
Rustay is currently wo-
rking in watercolors under
the tutelage of Harold Ph-
enix.
The bathroom is one of
the best places to execute
a watercolor according to
Rustay. Working during her
young son's naptime, Rus-
tay finds the impermeable
formica surface an ideal we-
t-on-wet location to create
her watercolor landscapes.
The Religious Art Show
will be open 9 a.m. to 4p.m„
on Sundays, March 24, 31,
and April 14. A reception
will be held Sunday, March
24 at 7:30 p.m. A Wood-
wind quintet will entertain
artists and guests.
