Sunday, March 29
Rattlesnake Speedway
Rattlesnake Speedway will have their
opening race at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 29.
The pits will open at 1 p.m. and hot laps
start at 2 p.m. Pit passes are $13 per per-
son. There is no charge for spectators to

Multi County Coalition
Multi County Coalition members and any
persons concerned with the detrimental
effects of coal pollution or critical water
resources in the Sweetwater and surround-

The Nolan County Coliseum Board will

March 31, 2009, in the coliseum's old
kitchen.

Roscoe residents interested in helping
plan July 4, activities are welcome to attend
a meeting on Tuesday, March 31, at 7 p.m.
at the Roscoe Community Center. A plan-
ning committee was recently organized.

West Texas Children's Advocacy Center
will host the Fourth Annual Child Abuse
Awareness Banquet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday,

be provided and all proceeds will benefit

Retired School Personnel
The Rolling Plains Unit of the Retired
School Personnel Association will meet at
11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 2, at the
Sweetwater Country Club. Lunch will be
served and the program will be a report on
the state convention held in March. The
four members who attended the convention
will be the speakers. There will be a short
business meeting after the program. All
retired teachers and school personnel are

Family FunFair
High Sky Children's Ranch and West
Texas Children's Advocacy Center will have
their fourth annual Family FunFair from 4-
6 p.m. at the Nolan County Coliseum
Annex. There will be food and games for the
entire family along with a prayer vigil and
music. Door prizes will be given away at
this free event. The public is invited to
attend.
Monday, April 6
Parent Meeting
A very important parent meeting regard-
ing proposed student drug testing for stu-
dents in grades 7-12 for the 2009-10 school
year will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April
6, 2009, at the Sweetwater High School
Auditorium. Parents are strongly encour-
aged to attend and hear information from
the SISD administration and the drug test-
ing company.

SHS Scholarship Assembly
The scholarship assembly for Sweetwater
High School will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday,
May 5, 2009, at the SHS Auditorium.
Businesses offering scholarships are asked
to bring it to the attention of the counseling
center at SHS bv calling 235-4371.
Saturday, July 25
DF Ranch Triathlon
The first DF Ranch Triathlon will be held
beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, July 25,
2009. The event will be a champion chip
timed event consisting of a 500 meter swim
in Lake Sweetwater, a 14 mile hike on FM
2035 and a 3.1 mile run. The race is limited
to 200 participants. The race is a USA
Triathlon sanctioned event. All profits will
be donated to the Alzheimer's Association
Texas Star Chapter. To register, log on to
