C OL. REEVES SPEAKS AT
GARDEN CLUB MEETING
Lt. Col. Elmo Reeves, president
of the Bandera Chamber of Com-
merce, was the guest speaker at
the January meeting of the Ma-
drona Garden Club. The meet-
ing was held Friday, January 10,
in the home of Mrs. John Ful-
bright. Col. Reeves reported the
County Judge, O. O.. Adams, had
informed him, they have plans
and the money is available to start
work in the near future on land-
scaping and ipiprovin|v)the.grounds
around the county court house, j
The plans call for off street park-
ing space, flower-bed areas, plant-
ing grass, paving and curbing
around the block. Col. Reeves
asked the Garden Club to work
with the Chamber of Commerce
and the Commissioner’s Court on
this project. Also the club was
asked to help with landscap-
I ing the old building across from
the court house, now used as the
Chamber of Commerce headquart-
ers. It was suggested in planning,
that native shrubs be considered,

ARE YOU WILLING TO LEARN THE
TRUTH ABOUT COMMUNISM
It has been pointed out by the Hon. Martin Dies, since
the assassination of President Kennedy, that Lee Harvey
Oswald was a Communist,” and that when a Commnuist
commits murder he is acting under orders.
The Hon. J. Edgar Hoover said in a speech on October
18, 1960: ‘‘We are at war with the Communists, and the
sooner each red-blooded American realizes that the better
and safer we will be.” He emphatically repeated this state-
ment on December 3, 1963—ten days after the assassination.
The John Birch Society is an educational army, and our
only weapon is the truth. George Washington stated our
problem well: “Truth will ultimately prevail where there ia
pains taken to bring it to light"
THE JOHN BIRCH SOCIETY
stands for:
•LESS GOVERNMENT
•more responsibility
•A BETTER world
in keeping with the Western in-
fluence.

Twiefel, as an alternate, to at-
