On Ike 17th inat4 there was
a gathering of kinfolks at Uncle
Jimmie Strong’s which repre-
sented a goodly number of young
Americans us well as older ones.
Plans Were to have a family re-
union, but three of Uncle Jim-
mies’ sons, James M. Strong of

At Benjamin, the county site
of Knox county, last S ndaj*
morning about 4 o clock Dr. L.
P. Jones went to his Wife’s sleep-

torney Brookson, in the oourt*
house and attacked him inflicting
two serious if not fatal wounds.
I he lawyer grappled with him
and threw him down the stairway'
breaking his thigh.
It seems that Dr. Jones and
his wife have been separated tot
some time, and she had instituted
suit for divorce, retaining Attor-
ney Brookson as her counsel in
the cuse. There is no other
known cause for the conduct of
Dr. Jones. He is "now securely
confined in the Knox countv jail.
Mrs. Jones was a native - of
Templ^, was a daughter of H. M.
McCelVey,<>ne of Temple’s oldest
and mo*t respected citizens, and
a sister,to Dr. J. S. MoCelvey, a
prominent physician, of Temple.
(She wus a highly educated lady,
and the people of Benjamin bear
testimony to her excellent charae:*

enroute to Temple where the
funeral took place Wednesday.
