gest event ovor pulled off in this
section and that all tho big shots will
be hero besides hundrods of ama-
teurs It is going to bo a big event
and there is no doubt of Uiat
ROYALL STREET IS BEING OPENED UP
Street Superintendent Wilson has
his entire force now filling in washouts
and opening up obstructions made by
the recent heavy rains As soon as this
task is finished he will go back on that
big job of opening up Royall street
This work has progressed until tho
street is now opon to tho south but
there is yet much grading and other
work to be dono This is a valuable
Ciece of work as it opens up consid-
erable new territory and gives tho
people living on that street tho ben-
efit of an open avenue leading to tho

county court this morning As has
been customary in this court a 3 fee
was taxed against the defendant in a
criminal case this foe going to the
county judge Week e Ewing the
attorneys claimed it was illegal and
to make a test case they tiled a motion
to rotax The question will likely be
submitted to the attorneygeneral for
a decision

The remains of the late Prof P V
Pennybacker for a long time superin-
tendent of the public schools of this
city have been ezhumued and shipped
to Austin whero they will be rein
terred Mrs Pe nnybacker has made
that city her home for some years
past and having built a very handy
