Crnbyton Celebrates Downtown Christmas

The Crosbyton Chamber of
Commerce and the businesses of
Crosbyton invite you to join in
the celebration in downtown
Crosbyton on December 7 and
December 8. The day begins with
open house in local businesses
from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Fri-
day, December 7. Check the pa-
per for a list of participating busi-
nesses. At 6:00 p.m. a Parade of
Lights will journey down Aspen
Street heading east past the
Courthouse and Museum. Any-
one interested in having a float, a
golf cart, a gator is invited to line
up by the school on Harrison
Street at no cost. Use lights to
make the street glow for Christ-
mas. A cash award will be given
to the first and second place
float.
Beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the
Prairie Ladies Multicultural Cen-
ter, parade viewers can sample
chili from the Chili Cook-off for
$5.00. Those wishing to compete
in the contest need to have their
chili at the Prairie Ladies by 5:30
p.m.
Santa will be visiting with
children at the gazebo beginning
at 6:45. Don’t miss the chance to
snap a picture and pick up a
goody sack for your child.
Finally, South Plains Blue-
grass students and local perform-
ers will serenade you with songs
at the Crosby County Pioneer
Memorial Museum at the annual
Candlelight Caroling in the mu-
seum. There is no cost and two
tours, beginning at 7:00 p.m. and
7:45 p.m. lead you past the carol-
ers. Join us and “Chime in and
Celebrate Christmas in Crosby-
ton.”

by Mayor Pro-Tern Montgomery
to approve the Consent Agenda
containing the Minutes from the
2nd Public Hearing on Tax In-
crease and the Regular Minutes

Kathy Rose addressed the Coun-
cil to request a street light on the
comer of 6th Street and Ave J on

sented Yard of the Month Award
by Mayor McDuff.
A MOTION was made by
Mayor Pro-Tern Montgomery and
seconded by Alderman Gonzalez
to approve the Department Head
Reports as written and posted.

Alderman Moore and seconded
by Alderman Davis to reappoint
Jeanette Wilson for another term
to serve on the Crosby County
Appraisal District Board of Direc-
tors. The Motion carried unani-
mously.
A MOTION was made by
Mayor Pro-Tern Montgomery
and seconded by Alderman Evatt
to reappoint Lonnie Arthur for an-
other term to serve on the Crosby
County Appraisal District Board
of Directors. The Motion carried
unanimously.

Texas Water Development Board
Grant including Ralls’ Waste Wa-
ter Plant. NO ACTION TAKEN.
Discussion was held by the
Council concerning White River
Municipal Water Development
grants for water well improve-
ment. NO ACTION TAKEN.
Discussion was held by the
Council concerning Ralls’ TDA
Grant for a water well. NOAC-
HON TAKEN.
A MOTION was made by
Mayor Pro-Tern Montgomery
and seconded by Alderman
Moore to appoint Mayor
McDuff as a TexPool represen-
tative; removing former Mayor
Reynolds from the account. The
Motion carried unanimously.
A MOTION was made by
Mayor Pro-Tern Montgomery
and seconded by Alderman
Gonzalez to approve water vari-
ance for Karisa Payne, located at
1303 Tilford, to fill hot tub/spa
for her daughter who is receiv-
ing a spa for therapy from Make
a Wish Foundation. The Motion
carried unanimously.
Discussion was held by the
Council concerning Watts, Av-
enues A, B, and C drainage is-
sues. NO ACTION TAKEN.
Consideration of changing
from Stage 3 Drought Contin-
gency was POSTPONED until a
later date.
Discussion was held con-
cerning setting arrangements for
city Christmas party. Party is set
for Monday, December 10th and
will be held at the Hamilton resi-
dence. Dinner will be a pot luck
dinner.
A MOTION was made by
Mayor Pro-Tern Montgomery
and seconded by Alderman Evatt
to approve the Financial and In-
vestment Reports and Accounts
Payable for August and Septem-
ber. The Motion carried unani-
mously.

8. Motion to allow Judge
Wigley to sign up for a Crosby
County credit card, restricted for
use only for payment of offsite
backup of County records and
other County computer expendi-
tures was made by Gary Jordan;
Seconded by Frank Mullins and
approved by unanimous vote of
the Court. Crosby County will be
responsible for the payment of
the credit card bill.
9. Motion to approve the
2013 Holiday Calendar with the
following correction: Jan. 1st is
Tuesday, not Wednesday, was
made by Steve Henn; Seconded
by Frank Mullins and Approved
by unanimous vote of the Court.
10. Motion to approve the
appointment of Karen S wink and
Janelle Snodgrass of Crosbyton,
Suzanne Wyrick and Donna Pair
of Lorenzo and Mandy Barrera
and Ronda Rendon of Ralls to
the Crosby County Library Board
was made by Frank Mullins; Sec-
onded by Steve Henn and Ap-
proved by unanimous vote of the
Court.
11. No action was taken on
the Crosby County Library Policy
Manual as no information was
available.
Billy Tidwell and Phil
Hoffman gave reports on their
jobs.
Commissioner Frank Mullins
turned in 17 Continuing Educa-
tion hours and Commissioner
Larry Wampler turned in 11 hours
from the V.G. Young Institute of
County Government Conference
Oct. 1-4, 2012 in San Marcos,
Texas.
There being no further busi-
ness, meeting adjourned at 11:00
