was held last Monriav night. Re-
presentatives of all eivie clubs in

from Corpus Christi outlined to

been worked out by the building
commutes. Briefly the proposals
call for completion of the present

taken over troops this year. They

Valle, Mrs. Margaret Pena, Mis.
Geo. Griffin, Mrs VV. D. Miller,
Mrs James Pyrort, Mrs. W. P.
Pressley and Mrs. W. A. Purvis,
all of Taft.
Mrs. Geo. Wither made a re-
port from the camp committee of
the council and announced that
the Girl Scouts and Brownies
will sell nuts early in November
to raise money to buy supplies
for the proposed camp.

Mr Mayfield had been to Taft

with the attack. He managed to

lard Vickers, who was passing at
the time, and Mr. Vickers
brought him immediately to ttce
doctor in Taft where he died a
few minutes after hui- arrival.
Mr. Mayfield and his family
were among the first pvtopk u»
settle in the Sodvillc arm, ceas-
ing there in 1918 from Conntai
where he was also a farmer.
Born March IT, 1885. the sew
of John and Sarah Ann MayfteW,,
near Grapevine, Tex., the deceas-
ed grew up in Karnes County
and' in Gonzales. In 1908 he mar-
ried Delia Autry in Gonzales aid!
