The room was hushed and all
was quiet. The gavel rang loud
and clear,
And then he spoke with a dis-
tant sound. He spoke for them
all to hear.
And out of the room there arose
a sound. "Mr President.” came
the voice.
A grey-haired man looked up
from his work, his reply not a
sound of rejoice
Grim faces turned to him from
nations around. His brow was
covered with sweat.
The voice that spoke was a

And so the meeting continued
while in his chair the President
sat.
Men from all nations were
there. They came from lands
everywhere.
On into ihe night it continued.
Arid louder the shouts became.
Until finally the voices surren-
dered. The room became quiet

Perfect Senior Girl
Miss Personality
One of the deicriptkms given
in the dictionary for the w«»d

especially one at execptKxud qual-
ities or character. Ttie girl per-
sonality for this week is a
picttuc of this description. Her
name is Glenda l,uce. X wtoukl
like to give you a few of the
qualities that I think make her
so outstanding. Faith—Glenda is
a very active ami steadfast mem-
ber of her church, and is nsmi-
mental in organizing the morning
devotional that w ill be held at
the school every Thursday morn-
ing. Reliable and dependable-as
well as teing capable of handling
big responsibilities, sht is a very
able co-editor of our school paper,
a job that makes her a listening
post for all of the complaints
lodged against it. We of the paper
staff think she is doing an otf-
standmg job. however and I foe
cne am glad to work with her.
Good natured- -yes, she just tak-
es the criticisms in stride and
tries to please the majority, no
one can please everybody Her
friendly nature makes all of us
n friend, and not just a class-
mate. T have never heard her
speak an unkind work to anyone,
or use foul language, ami X be-
lieve tha: 1 never will. Ambition-
plenty. She plans to enter Wey-
