ORDER DEPARTMENT.
DRESS- GOODS DEPART-
MENT.
Every one who reads this no-
tice is requested to send to us
for samples, and carefully com-
pare them with samples from
Chicago or St. Louis. We are
not only not afraid of competi-
tion, but earnestly invite a com-
parison of goods and prices from
all sources.
Our advantages as large deal-
ers are not excelled by any
house on the continent, while
our light expenses enable us to
sell on a smaller margin than
* do other large houses in Chica-
go and St. Louis.
As evidence of this our “Or-
der Department” has attained
.such magnitude as to give em-
ployment to a large force of
■clerks, and is so managed as to
secure the prompt and effectual
•execution of all orders sent us.
The suoerintendent of this de-
partment is supposed to stand
in the customer’s place, and nev-
er hesitates to discriminate in
the customer’s favor where there
is any chance to do so: conse-
quently the purchaser, by letter,
isecures the same advantages if
present in person.
We thus bring to the doors of
our customers in the country all
the advantages of our very large
and perfect assortment and low
prices.
Samples.
All orders for samples will re-
ceive the utmost care and deli-
’ gent attention.
Suggestions.
When you send for samples
please>tote about the range of
prices, and colors wanted and
also what kind of goods.
t
In ordering from samples make
a second and third choice in case
the lirst choice should in the
meantime be sold.
When you order goods from
samples do not remove the ticket
showing price and width, but at-
tach it and the samples securely
to your order.

ferable when the amount of the

idea of prices, etc., they will risk
nothing in allowing us to make
their selections, as we will
change anything not satisfacto
ry.
We would urge our customers
not to hesitate to send small and
apparently insignificant orders;
they will receive as careful atten-

our intention to make this de-
