The West School Board met
in regular session, October I,
7:30 p.m. with all members
present. Also present in the
meeting were representatives
from the West Baseball
Boosters Club who discussed
with the board possible co-

discussion, the board agreed

LINN A. PESCAIA
According to those present
when Father Earl Hedberg
arrived at Marlin's Catholic
Church, Lew Kleypas intro-
duced himself and immed-
iately. even before the hand-
shake started, said, "Let's see
now, your father was a Priest,
wasn’t he?”....realizing what
he had said, Lew tried to
recover....he stammered,
"Oh, that’s right, Priests
don’t have fathers, do they?

Long hair may be in style,

seeing a beard and a pony tail

Evelyn Bezdek is still trying
to adjust to her new car. "It
won’t start unless I have my
seat belt on, a buzzer goes off
when the speed is over 60, and
a light comes on when the gas
is low...Ernest complaining
about my driving was bad
enough, but now my dash-
board nags me!”
West won the game and, if it
makes any difference, the
score was 15-12.
David Nemec made the
catch on a 53-yard pass from
David Snokhous that placed
the football on the Reicher 2.
From there, Snokhous sneaked
1 into the end zone with less
than 90 seconds remaining in
the game for the Trojans
win—their fifth in as many
contests. Reicher slips to 4-1.
With 3:51 left in the first
period, West opened the
scoring on a four-yard run by
Snokhous. His kick on the
point after atempt was good
giving the Trojans a 7-0 lead.

Fire Dept. Reporter
Quarterback Robert Atkins
teamed up with his brother,
Ricky, for a seven-yard touch-
dowm pass that narrowed the
gap to 7-6.
The Cougars assumed a 12-7
halftime lead when Alfred
Hurtado tossed 19 yards to
Felipe Sanchez for a touch-
down on a faked field goal.
Doug Snokhous led the way
in the second half for the
Trojans, carrying the ball most
of the times as West dominat-
ed in second half ball
possession.
In the third quarter, Dennis
Schroeder broke through the
Reicher offensive line to tackle
Robert Atkins in the Cougar
end zone for a safety. The
stanza ended with the Cou-
gars ahead 12-9.
Mike Kasberg, Kenneth
Taylor, Charlie Kubacak. and
Eddie Snokhous were out-
standing on defense.
A well-deserved rest comes
to Carlile and his undefeated
Trojans this week, but they
will have their hands full
beginning next week because
they open District 22-AA
competition against the Mart
Panthers for homecoming.
