TENAHA HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL IS UNDERWAY

The Tenaha Tigers traveled to
Price,Tx. to take on the Carlisle
Indians. Tenaha had a great first
inning as they scored 5 runs. The
first five batters got on base and
scored. Aaron King, Caleb Fallin,
Nicholas Claiborne, Timothy
Roberson all got hits. “Popcorn”
Horton walked and also scored
a run. Nicholas Claiborne drove
in two runners with a double. The
final score was Tenaha 7- Carlisle
1.
This was Tenaha?s first dis-
trict game and they started off
with a big win. Timothy
Roberson was on the mound for
the Tigers and he had another
great performance. He struck out
17 batters in this 7 inning game.
Congratulations to the Tigers
for their second win with no
loses. Remember the Tigers will
play Harleton on Friday, March
19. The game will be in Harleton

at First Baptist Church in
Timpson with Dr. Clark
Stricklin officiating. Interment
followed at Oaklawn Cem-
etery, Center, Tx. Visitation
was held Monday, March 15,
from 5 to 8 PM. Mr. Conway
passed away in Timpson,Tx, on
Sunday, March 13, 2004. He
was bom September 13, 1935,
in Tenaha, TX., to Preston and
Rita (Hillen) Conway. They,
along with brother Jack
Conway, preceded him in
death. Mr. Conway was a mem-
ber of First Baptist Church in
Timpson, TX. Mr. Conway
served his country from 1954
to 1956 in the U.S. Air Force.
Johnnie’s news: We have
had several beautiful days this
week that we are so thankful
for.
We have plenty of rain also.
The geese and ducks are happy.
Debra’s little calf has been run-
ning and playing in the corral.
Monday night games were
good. We missed Betty. She
was out of town. We had a lot
of food as usual.
I saw the Crawford boys cars
at home this week end. Chris
has such a beautiful voice. We
miss him when he is not here.
Helen Brittan’s cousin won-
ders shy her name isn’t men-
tioned in the Stockman news.
I’ll say she makes delicious
chocolate pies. So the news
goes all the way to California
and New Mexico.
Earl and I went to the Ross’s
and got some green onions this
week. We divided them with
Sis and Adelle. The Ross’s al-
Wliile serving his country, he
learned his craft of mechanics
which he used as a lifetime ca-
reer. He worked offshore for
several companies before he
finally found his niche with the
Brown and Root Marine Divi-
sion. He worked for them for
25 years before they shut down
their marine division. Several
former Brown and Root em-
ployees went together to form
the company Horizon Off-
shore, and Roy came onboard
with them as Equipment Su-
perintendent. Roy’s knowledge
and expertise took him to many
foreign countries including the
Far East, Middle East, Europe,
Africa and many ports in be-
tween. He quickly became a
legend by all who ever knew
him and/or had the honor and
ways divide what vegetables
they have.
I have checked on Rachel
and she is better. She never
misses church if at all possible.
The Fanchers are better. I
hear he has been working in the
garden; that is good.
Sis, Debra, and I went to a
sale at Eckerd’s. We didn’t buy
much much. We did get our
food at McDonald’s. Debra
always sees someone she
knows there. We stopped on
the way out and visited with
Debra’s mother.
Debra is grandma now. Her
son and his wife are the proud
parents of a little girl in Ala-
bama. I know she is anxious
to see her. It will have to stay
in an incubator for awhile.
We are glad Betty and Steve
are home. Evangeline was here
for a week. Sis and I ate with
them every day. Evangeline is
such a good cook and says she
priviledge of working with and
for him. Roy will not only be
sorely missed by his family and
friends, but also by his Horizon
family. Survivors include: wife;
Anne Haden Conway of Timp-
son. Daughter; Cheyanne
Conway of Nacogdoches,TX.
Sons; Eddie Conway and wife
Sherry of Lufkin, Tx. Roy Glen

like it too. She is getting ready
for Adelle’s birthday soon. She
will cook a complete meal. She
and Adelle played dominoes a
lot.
God of the still, small voice,
even through the din of con-
flict,
Let us find a quiet place to
listen to You.
Hear our concerns, and
guide us as we seek direction.
Amen
Pat’s news:A slow week
around here—I was on spring
break. I visited with Aunt
Marie one afternoon.
Happy birthday to my sister
Dot on March 17. I won’t tell
her age either!
Zachary and Chris are on
spring break this week.
We missed Aileen,

A SPECIAL THANK YOU
We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to
everyone for all your support during the recent
loss of our mother, Bessie Lee Baldwin. We
appreciate the numerous ways that you less-
ened our sorrow. We feel honored that so many
came to visitation and to Mother’s funeral.
Your cards, flowers, memorials, prayers and
the bountiful food served to family and friends
are kindnesses treasured in our hearts.
Mother’s life journey on Earth ended after 97
years of extending her love and caring spirit.
The depth of your love shown to us in our loss
will always be remembered. May God bless
each of you.
