R. Q. LEE OF CISCO ANNOUNCES
I FOR CONGRESS OF THIS DISTRICT
J. M. Williamson, mayor of Cisco,
and A. B. O’Flaherty, editor of the
Cisco Daily News, were in this office
Tuesday and while here authorized
this paper to announce the candidacy
ot R. Q. Lee of that city as a candi-
date for Congress from this, tlie 17th
district, to succeed Thomas L. Blan-
ton who has announced for the U. S.
Senate.
Mr. Lee is one of the outstanding
characters of West Texas, and has
beeu honored by the people with the
iniportant station of president of the
W0it Texas Chamber of Commerce.
He has been to Llano on different oc-
passions, always In the interest of
some constructive work for this vast
territory and perhaps no man has
done more than this gtutlenian for
the material progress of West Texas
during the past few years. He has
given of his time and means for the
p..-bHe welfare, and should he be plac-
ed-.1n Congress, will continue that
umiring service for the people he
represents. Mr. Lee loves West Tex-

abiding confidence in its untold oppor-
