Of life, could find no fault in Him
stall.
There was no Word, the speaker
safd, that fell more readily from
Christ's lips than the word "for-
give". He forgave even before
pardon was asked. No professed
follower of Christ was sincere and
true who cherished hatred 'and
malice. It was the duty of all to
foigtve. The people who hated
others, he said, were not Christians.
Tbey were never touched by the
divine spirit. They needed to get
genuine religion, and their hearts
would be fail of the desire to for-
give. Those who had l*een for-
given by God should hasten to
forgive all who wronged them.
Mr. • Sherman* plead earnestly
with all to cultivate the forgiving
spirit, and Jwith those who were
not saved to secure the forgiveness
of God and become his" followers.
His earnest and powerful address
made a deep impression on all who
heard it.

Mr. Green stated that he did not I
aedpt the Darwinian theory of atifll
having evolved from the slime of
many centuries past, bat that he
was created by God in God’s image.
That the Biblical account of the
fall was trne and man had lost his
great estate by sin.
Man, was more important than
the angels in the, scale of creation.
When the angels fell there was no
provision made for their redemp-
tion. The angels were ministering
Spirits only. Man was of such
great importance that the son of
God died to save him. He was
created to have dominion over all
things, yet he had fallen so low he
feared all things, beasts, insects,
creeping things. Mr, Green plead
earnestly for purer life and sin-
cerer worship of God and living
according to higher Meals of Chris-
tian serrice.

Business
If you were a merchant, would-
n’t you rather sell a\ thousand
yards of silk in a day, at a profit
of 19c a yard, than to sell (with-
out advertising) fifty yards, at a
profit of 25cta a yard?
Isn’t it plain that in all such in-
stances the buyer gets the benefit
of the “volume of business” which
advertising enables the merchant
to do?
The money coat of a journey—
long or short—by Wage coach (not
to coxxt time, or comfort) wm
greater than that of a present dey
journey by railway. The
ways” of doing things were not
even CHEAPER ,
The coot of things in an old*
fashioned store nowadays is great-
er than in the progressive stores—
the advertised stores. It’s not
even CHEAPER to patronize the
non-progressive merchant--not to
count the unwisdom of helping
make it possible for reactionary
and non-progressive merchants to
“do business.”

-Bishop J. S. Johnston filled; the
pulpit at Grace church yesterday,
his regular annual visitation to this
church and delivered a strong sfm-
ply worded sermon tl*at made ain
impression on all who heard it.
"God in Christ’’ was the subject
of his discourse, and the congrega-
tion was indeed fortunate in hear-
ing him. Bishop Johnston makes
no pretense to eloquence, but
makes a strong, forceful talk on
any snbject he attempts to handle..
With Mr. Bowden he left on the

preached in the evening, there
being no services here owing £ o
