The story of the tragedy of C. L.
Jordan, near West Point, Miss., is
distressing. This physician was
making a call in the -conntry. He
lost his way. With an old negro
acting as guide the doctor came in
contact with a wagon filled with
white men. It seems he asked a
question and those in the wagon
thinking pe was one of a gang of
marauding negroes, fired at him
and missed him, but his horse
reared and threw him. Dr. Jordan
was mortally injured by the tall.
We do not question the truth of the
statement of the man who shot at
Dr. Jordan. But the Incident
shows the tremendous danger of
men being qnick upon the trigger.
A second’s reflection or one more
question might have removed the
spprehensien from all minds, bat
as soon ss the siarm came there

death of a most useful citizen.—

DOING THOR DUTY.
Scores of Cuero Readers are
Learning the Duty of the
Kidneys.
Ta .filter the blood is the .kid-
neys’ duty.
When they fail to.do this the
kidneys are sick. Backache and
many kidney ills follow;
Urinary trouble, diabetes.
Doan’s kidney Pflis cure them
all.
Cuero-people endorse our claim.
Mrs. Mary Banker, living in the
northwestern part of Cnero, Texas,
says: “I know positively that
Doan’s Kidney Pills helped me
dbd I am glad to give them my
endorsement. I was bothered a
great deal by the irregular action
of the kidney secretions. I could
not sleep well at night and dis-
tressing pains in the top and back
of my head and felt generally miser*
able. Upon learning of Doan’6
Kidney Pills I had my husband
get a box for me at the Cnero Drug
Co. and I began their use. I im-
proved steadily and was soon able
to attend to my bogie work with-
out the least inconvenience. My
kidneys were also strengthened
and the secretipns restored to a
normal condition.’’

The Town of Aransas Pass
Aransas Pass is the coming great deep- water harbor city on
the Texas Coast. It has been known that Aransas Pass was the
most available location on the Gnlf of Mexico for a deep-water
harbor. There are eighty square miles & deep water in the<
harbor, lour and one-half miles of dock frontage with a terminal
railroad building out into the bay of the harbor. This town is
regularly laid off with business and residence lots in the pro-
portion necessary for a la/ge city. There are reservations for
school houses, churches and public parks. It is covered with a
beautiful growth of live oak and green bay trees. It is an ideal |
location for a seaport town.
