Welcome To Double Oak N
Visited and Greeted by Freda Brittain
Another delightful young couple has moved to the Taylor Oaks
addition in Double Oak. Shannon and Mike Mourar were
transferred to Texas from Phoenix, AZ. Mike is employed by
Best Buy and Shannon is a home maker, taking care of their 20
month old son Zachary. She enjoys scrap booking, working out
and is active with MOMs Club a nation wide play group for a
child which has local chapters in many towns in most states.
Needless to say she contacted a local group after they moved
in. The one thing that attracted the Mourars to Double Oak
was the close proximity to stores, but still an environment of
country living. She especially enjoys seeing the horses as she
was an avid rider when she was young. Mike loves to golf.
They have a well behaved Black Lab named Harley. Their
realtor found their home in Taylor Oaks after showing several
homes in Flower Mound and it was instant love. Shannon and
her husband are very happy to be in Texas, especially since
Mikes mom lives in Houston.
School. They had 2 cats; however, one is missing now since
V^ey moved in. They found Double Oak just driving through. J
Golfing Around #17

I was recently asked about how to
stop from topping the ball. I asked if
they take a practice swing before
each stroke? They said that they
did. So, I asked if the contacted the
ground in any way during the
practice swing? They said that
they did not.
And this is the problem. You must
make the same contact with the
ground that you want to make during
the actual stroke. This is called,
“finding the bottom” of your swing.
This is very important to proper ball
striking. First, it trains the head and
the hands to the contact feel of the
ground before the stroke, so that
there is no anticipation of the
contact during the actual stroke.
Second, it trains the eyes to stay
down during the actual swing to
LOOK for the same divot as in the
practice swing.
This is true for all fairway shots, but
especially true for chip shots. In
heavy grasses, that will require a
steep down swing to the ball (to
make sure that the club contacts the
ball first), you MUST practice
ground contact (sometimes several
times) in order to have confidence in
the actual swing.
It has always amazed me that
golfers will take three or four
practice swings with their putter, but
will not take a single practice swing
with their other clubs.
If you have a particular question
about golf, please contact me
through the editor by email or letter,
and I will answer your question.
Welcome To Double Oak N

It never ceases when I visit new people that I find such interesting new comers to Taylor Oaks. Valerie and
Keith LeBlanc came from Coppell in September; however, told me they had been riding around here for years in
Double Oak to find a home. Keith owns his own company in Insurance Adjusting and Valerie works part-time
for him. He loves to garden, is especially interested in Day Lilys, and watching car races. Valerie enjoys
sewing, church, taking care of her mom who lives with her and wants to leam to knit. Yours truly will take care
of that soon. They have two girls, Andree age 20 who attends North Lake College and is a Disney maniac per
her mother. Aimee, 18 attends A & M in International studies, learning Spanish, is a writer and active in church
at College Station. Valerie was bom and reared in New Orleans and Katrina has had a huge impact on them as
V'they had many relatives who had to relocate in Texas.___/

From Brian Hall, local Animal Control
Attention: PET OWNERS
Time for a reminder for all Double Oak and Argyle residents: if you own a cat or dog, registration is mandatory.
A registered pet is one that if lost, can be returned safely to its owners, usually without impound fees, etc. Not
being registered can cost the owner more in fees and possible citations. I patrol the area frequently, and seldom
find a loose pet that has on a registration tag. I challenge the residents to take part in this program.
In Argyle, registration can be done at City Hall or at either veterinarians office, with proof of a current rabies
vaccination on the pet.
In Double Oak, registration can only be done at Town Hall.
Please contact me for any questions on this matter...........or any other animal related issues. Its my job to help
lost pets reunite with their owners. Registration is another tool to make that job easier.
