Dear Rig,
How nice of you to write a newsy letter!
You were my last hope on the negative so I had one
made. If my donations to the museum are on display,
maybe they'd like a print to identify...or, if the
museum is not yet, then when it is.
Golly, now you've excited me, and I didn't know
about Fifi so I'm eager to see her. But let me
tell you my emotion in 1972...standing before
the Courthouse in uniform, in review, awaiting
the cord to be pulled for the unveiling of the
monument, it washed over me how weird it was to
be alive, standing here, saluting our own tombstone!
(I could still zip the skirt in 72 by not breathing
--today I can get it on at all by not breathing.)
Thanks to you, and thanks to Juno again, and I will
see you both!
love, love, love
