Weather Report.
The following is the weather
forecast as reported by the gov-
ernment:
Tonight and Friday partly
cloudy to cloudy, probably
threatening weather.
Misses Addie Wilson and Ruth
Chancey, of Lometa, passed
through here today enroute to
Austin. While here they were
guests of Miss Cornelia Stevens.
Miss Prima Baker entertained
this morning with a pool party in
honor of Miss Ruth Adamson of
Houston who is a gues%of Miss
Pearl Frazer. I
Someone removed an umbrella
or parasol from the Methodist
church. It has the name Mc-
Henry upon it, and the party
having it in possession will please
return to the home of R. D. Me
Henry.
There was a series of sermons
delivered on the streets of Lam-
pasas this week by a minister
and his wife from Fort Worth.
They had fairly good crowds at
their services and made an im
pression for good.

Mrs. C. V. Carroll, who has

wood, is again at home here.
R. R. Stewart has returned
Rogers after a brief visit here
his sister, Miss Nora Stewart.
Dr. W. D. Yett, of Marble
Falls, was a guest of Dr. W. D.
Francis here for a time Wednes-
day while passing through to the
district conference at Lometa.

Mrs. D. S. Safley and two
children are guests of Mrs. T. E.
Rippy. Their home is in Belton,
and Mrs. Safleyus a niece of-Mrs.
Rippy.
N. L. Lockwood, the veteran
patron and friend of The Leader,
who runs a small supply store a
few miles north of Lampapas,
was here Monday and made The
Leader a business call. He said
he was thinking of putting an
ice cream stand in connection
with his other business and
thinks he will find it profitable.

The Masons will install their
new officers tonight, and supper
will be served at about the usual
hour. The installation will ap-
ply to the officials of both the
blue lodge and the chapter, and
there should be a full attendance
of the brethren. Names of the
officials were given in a former
issue.
Judge Cook, who frequently
visits his daughter, Mrs. J. R.
Key, of this place, now owns a

ables him to go wherever he
wishes and affords him much
pleasure. He has been spending
the past few days here.

The commissioners court is
still sitting as a board of equal-
ization, and may be in session
some days yet. It is the in-
tention of these representatives
of the citizens of the county to do
what the law requires, that is to
equalize the value of property,
so that each holder will bear his
proper proportion of the expense
of maintaining the county and
state government, and these
gentlemen will do their best to
accomplish that purpose. They
need the assistance of every good
man in this effort.

Mrs. Marshall Wells, assisted
by her mother Mrs. Kate Knight,
entertained the Presbyterian Aid
society Wednesday afternoon at
her home in East Lampasas. In
spite of the threatening weather
the attendance was good and the
meeting greatly enjoyed. Mrs.
Walter McCauley led the lesson
on the 6th and 7th chapters Of
Hebrews, and about twenty mem-
bers responded.to the -text word,
Maker.” At-The next session
of the society the 8th chapter of
Hebrews will be studied and the
text word will be ‘‘King.' The
place of meeting will be an-
nounced later. The .hostess, as-
sisted by her mother and Miss
Nell Knight, served cream and
cake.
