Kenny Loggins to appear at ACU

A Students' Association contract to
sponsor "An Evening With Kenny
Loggins" Nov. 1 should arrive by special
delivery Friday morning said Steve
Jenson International Creative
Management agent In Los Angeles
Thursday afternoon.
The concert is scheduled for 8 p.m. in
Moody Coliseum said Kern Lewis senior
class president and major entertainment
director.
The contract then will be revised by
Lewis and Clay Hale SA vice president
said Greg Perry senior physical education
major from Abilene and entertainment
committee member.
ACU attorneys will finalize revisions and
sign the contract before it is sent back to
Loggln's agent said Perry.
Optimist
Loggins is scheduled to perform about
two hours with no warm-up band said
Lewis.
Tickets will be W and $8 and are
scheduled to go on sale Friday after
Chapel from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the SA
office said Perry. Tickets are reserved
seating only he said.
"This will give ACU students first
chance at buying them before they go on
sale to the general public" Perry said.
Tickets may be purchased at the
Campus Center ticket window starting
Monday and continuing through Nov. 1
after Chapel until 5 p.m. said Perry. No
checks will be accepted and students must
present their I.D.s Lewis said.
Also tickets are scheduled to go on sale
Monday at Hastings Books and Records

48 seniors for Who's Who

Forty-eight seniors have been selected
by the Student Life Committee to Who's
Who Among Students in American Col-
leges and Universities said Garvin Beau-
champ vice president for student ser-
vices Nominations for the honor were submit-
ted by students and faculty members said
Bcachamp. Candidates were judged on
character leadership honesty dependa-
bility future promise attitude and a grade
point average of at least 2.5 he said.
This year's recipients are Glenn Ad-
dison government major from Magnolia;
Vicki Jo Allen drama major from
Garland; Faye Armstrong pre-med
majoc from Anson; Glenn Bcasley pre-
med major from Fayctteville Tenn; and
Robert Bcasley. Bible jnajor from Fort
"Worih.
Others arc Phil Boone finance major
from Abilene; Jeff Boyd ministry and
evangelism major from Austin; Mark
Alan Burns pre-med major from Valley
Mills; Nelson Coatcs advertising major
from Abilene; and Ron Cobb finance
major from Cameron.
Also selected were Dale Conder finance
major from Lubbock; Mark Edge Bible
major from Winnsboro; Joy Fair ac-
counting major from Abilene; Grant
Fcasel pre-dentistry major from Abilene;
David Flow industrial management
major from Austin; and Donna Garret
public relations major from Midland.
Others selected were Paula Garrett

Gilmorc radio-TV major from Abilene;
Scot Gocn secondary industrial arts
major from Anton; Clay Hale marketing

med major from Lubbock; and DeRinda
Cooper High School Perry said. The rec-
ord stores will continue sales until Nov. 1
"We'ro giving section C of the coliseum
to Abilene High and section J to Cooper to
familiarize them with ACU and the quality
concerts we can have here" said Perry.
Student council presidents Ncal Coatcs
of Abilene High and Bobby Cluck of Cooper
will coordinate ticket sales at the schools.
The schools will have three days to sell
their lot of 205 tickets before returning
them to SA.said Perry
"Hopefully competition can be built up
between the schools since the following
weekend will be the Abilene High-Cooper
football game" said Perry.
A major portion of advertising will be 30-
second radio spots on KFMN and KORQ
radio stations coordinated by David Perry
of Media Marketing Consultants he said.

theme from the movie "Caddyshack;" "I
Believe in Love;" "Whenever I Call You
Friend;"and "Whato Fool Believes."
He also released many hits as part of the
Loggins and Messina duo.
Earlier SA negotiations with the groups
Toto Chicago and Kansas were un-
successful this semester said Lewis
We expect a capacity crowd for the
concert so students should plan to pur-
chase tickets early he said.
