ports give the temperature at La
t’rosne, Wis., as twenty-two de-
grees below zero, white at Milwau-
kee it is fifteen below and at Green
Bay eighteen.
At six o’clock this morning the
temperature at Omaha, Neb. , was
thirteen degrees below, and at St.
Joe, Mo., eight degrees below , with
Chicago, 111., a close second at nine
degrees. There is much suffering
among the poorer classes, while*
the cattle on the ranges are in dan-
ger on account of the change from
the recent warm w'eathcr coming;
with such suddenness.
St. Paul, Minn., registered 25
degrees below zero.
At Itegina, Canada, forty de-
grees is reported.
