Oleta Davis
Oleta Davis, age 80, of Lake
Kickapoo, Texas passed away
Monday evening, October 17,2005,
at Hospice of Wichita Falls.
Graveside services were at
10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 20,
2005, in the Archer City Cemetery
with her nephew, Cary Freeman, of
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, officiat-
ing. Arrangements were under the
direction of Aulds Funeral Home of
Archer City.
The family received friends
from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday, October 19, 2005, at
Aulds Funeral Home.
Oleta was bom October 24,
1924 in Floydada, Texas to James
Polvadore and Frances Taylor
Polvadore.
She and Jim Davis were mar-
ried May 27, 1946 in Amarillo, Texas.
Mrs. Davis was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Holliday
Baptist Church and the Lake.
Kickapoo Volunteer Fire Depart-
mentAuxiliary.
Survivors include her hus-
band, Jim of Lake Kickapoo; two
daughters, Sue Mason of Colorado
City, Texas and Denise Bowles of
Anthony, Texas; one sister, Nila
Brown of Marshall, Texas; one
granddaughter, Jamie Munoz of
Coleman, Texas; and one grand-
son, Ryan Mason of Colorado
City, Texas.
She was preceded in death
by five brothers, James Hillery
Polvadore, John Tilford
Polvadore, Elton Irwin Polvadore,
Oric Doyel Polvadore, and Vaudie
Ray Polvadore. Preceded in death
by four sisters; Letha Mae
Polvadore Mason, Linnie Dee
Polvadore Stewart, Etta Lou
Polvadore Sanders, and Quida
Pearl Polvadore Sanders
Serving as pallbearers were
Richard Bowles, Larry Mason,
Ryan Mason, Stan Mason, Donal
Ross, and Duward Stone.
The family suggests memo-
rials to Hospice of Wichita Falls,
4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls,
Texas 76310.

by an adult, but only 1 needed

made to go ahead and start
functioning.

Grand Opening
The Holliday Public Library is
pleased to announce the
beginning of book check out.
Beginning November 3,2005
(Thursday), the library will be
open from 2-6 pm on Mondays
and Thursdays. Hopefully these
hours will increase as volunteers
are trained in the very simple
book check out system and are
willing to stay for more hours.
The two front rooms are full of
books (over 7000). Book
donations are welcome,
Janice Myers
Janice Myers, 66, of Sedan,
Kansas died Wednesday evening
(Oct. 19, 2005) at her home in Se-
dan.
She was bom March 31,193 9
at Mankins Texas, to Louis and
Eulah (Dalton) Blair. She grew up
in Dundee, Texas and attended
school at Holliday High School in
Holliday Texas.
On July 19,1955, she married
Dickey Myers in Henrietta Texas.
Following their marriage, they
moved to Wichita Falls, Texas,
where they lived until moving to
many locations, until moving to Se-
dan in February of 1974.
Mrs. Myers was a member of
the Church of Christ in Sedan, Kan-
sas.
She enjoyed working outside,
and most of all, being a Grandma.
Survivors include her hus-
band, Dickey of the home in Sedan;
one daughter, Kim and her husband
Danny Ellis of Mariposa California,
two sons, Ronald and his wife
Cindy of Shidler, Oklahoma, and
Rocky Myers; one sister Billie Sue
and her husband Ed McDonald of
Wichita Falls, Texas, eight grand-
children and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her
parents.
Services were at 10:30 a.m.,
Saturday, (October 22,2005) at the
Church of Christ in Sedan, Kansas
with the Reverend Joe Thomas offi-
ciating. Burial was at Greenwood
Cemetery in Sedan, Kansas.
Visitation was from 12:00
p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, (Octo-
ber 21, 2005) at the David W. Barnes
Funeral Home in Sedan.
Family has suggested memo-
rials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hos-
pice and can be left with the funeral
home
.Arrangements were under
the direction of the David W.
Barnes Funeral Home of Sedan.

Halloween in the Park
The Wichita Falls Parks and
Recreation Department will be hav-
ing their 4th annual Lucy Park Hal-
loween on Saturday, October 29th
from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. This event
is a family oriented Halloween Car-
nival. There will be a free Costume
Parade & Contest sponsored by
KNIN for all ages, groups or indi-
viduals. Registration will be held
from 4:30 to 5:00 at the Lucy Park
Log Cabin. The Parade and judg-
ing will be from 5:00 till 5:45 with 13
awards being presented by the
KNIN on-air personalities. The
“Great Pumpkin” Decorating Con-
test will be from 6:00 til 6:45 for ages
10 and under boys and girls with 3
divisions. There will be awards for
1st & 2nd place in each division.
General activities for all ages
are from 5:00-8:00, and include: Face
Painting, Moonwalk, Cake Walk,
Clinko, Wheel of Fortune, and many
others, some of the activities are
free, and some require tickets that
can be bought at the event. There
will be a food and drink concession
available.
