The African American families of Bartlett were active citizens in Bartlett in the late 1800’s to the present. Many contributions have been made to society throughout the State of Texas, the United States and the World from descendants of families who received their education in the Bartlett School System and colleges and universities in the State of Texas, like Prairie View A&M University, Paul Quinn College, Temple College and many other educational institutions including the Military where families served the United States of America.
