LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND ADMINISTRATION COORDINATION COMMITTEE
The Leadership Development and Administration Coordination
Committee will address (1) ways that appropriate leadership can be
educated and developed to insure that disciplined-based visual
arts education programs are implemented in elementary schools in
the Denton/Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, (2) the administrative
structure of the North Texas Regional Institute for Educators on
the Visual Arts, and (3) the needed coordination for the staff
development and implementation activities. As the committee
addresses the responsibilities enumerated below, consideration
should be given to goals, activities, personnel (including
consultants), time lines, and budgets.
Responsibilities
* identify those arts, educational, and community leaders who are
important in the decision-making process and who are
responsible and/or influential in implementing such a
program.
* address appropriate ways in which to inform, educate and
gain support for disciplined-based art education from such
leadership groups as school board members, school
administrators, state department of education leaders,
museum board members, teacher educators, and community art
patrons.
* propose an administrative and coordination structure for the
Regional Institute
* develop job descriptions for the Regional Institute Personnel.
* address the issue of how successful staff development and
curriculum implementation activities can be expanded throughout
the state and region.
