News was received in Ballin-
ger late Wednesday to the effect
that the best oil well so far
brought in in the Santa Anna oil
field had just been capped. The
report received here says that
oil stood at a depth of seventy
feet in a well that was about 1,-
600 feet deep. These in charge
of the drilling announced that
they expected the well to throw
oil out the top when it was un-
capped, a s every indication
pointed to a gusher. The new
well is known as the Turner well
and is only a short distance from
where oil was struck in another
well some time ago, but lost when,
tie drillers continued drilling,
thinking a better flow would be
i..:i:-d deeper.
