The 1929 Runnels County Fair swung open at
1:00 o’clock Tuesday afternoon with the streets
thronged with people to see the opening parade of
decorated cars. Thirteen fully decorated care
were entered in the parade and many partially
decorated and comical cars.
Sheriff McWilliams on his pinto pony led the
Ballinger Booster Band in Hutchings Avenue
from Tenth Street at the head of the parade. Im-
mediately following the hand came the fair of-
ficials, county and city officials.
