Homecoming Fills Week
Homecoming week activities begin
| Activities include intercollegiate
athletics, faculty-student basketball
games, a bonfire and presentation of a
homecoming queen and her court.
Activities begin tonight with the Fillies
playing South Plains Junior College at 6
p.m. They end Saturday night with a
double-header conference contest with
Paris, the presentation of the
Homecoming court, and the Homecoming
dance.
Tomorrow night there should be some
comic relief when a men’s faculty team
goes up against a SGA men’s team and the
women staff team faces off against a
student team.
Women staff members are Dazell
Williams and Dena Brand of the business
office. Other staff members are Sharon
lister and Wanda Gains of the financial
aid office.
Other team members include Norma
Lawless, office occupations instructor,
Donna Hoffmann, aerobics instructor;
Cathy Pate, secretary; Diane Phillips,
book store manager and Jeanne Golden,
Spanish instructor.

Tina Allen, Elysian Fields freshman
Rosemary Mosely, Elysian Fields fresh-
man, Melba Dodd, Center freshman,
Stephanie McNealy, Center freshman;
and Sharon Barnes, Shelbyville freshman.
The men’s faculty team seems to lack
depth with reports unofficial as to who will
play. Those expected are John Boland,
businss manager; Edd Smith, activities
director; Paul Peck, basketball coach;
Dan Wilkins, counselor; and Bob Wilkins,
data processing instructor.
The SGA men’s squad looks strong with
Dalton George of Logansport, Walter
Ward of Tatum, Ronald Adams of Tatum,
Mark Lyons of Indianapolis, Ind., Carneh
Bolton of Shelbyville and Vernon Garrett,
Center freshman.
Wednesday night’s activity is a bus trip
to Tyler for the Ponies’ and Fillies’ games
with Tyler.
A hamburger cookout will be held
Thursday at 5:30 p.m. on the lawn near
Merle Glass Dorm. Immediately after the
cookout, a bonfire will be touched off.
Tentative time for the blaze is 6:30.
The bonfire will be constructed by the
forest technology students under the
direction of James Martin, instructor.
The PJC cheerleaders and invited area
junior high and high school cheerleaders
will provide a spirited pep rally.
Friday night’s activity will be a fun
night in the Student Center. Free pool,
video games and music will be available
from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday night will end the activities
with the two games with Paris.
