Farm Bureau to launch
market education program
Risk is something Texas farmers
live withon a daily basis, and the
state's largetst farm organization will
soon have anew program designed to
help farmers manage their risk.
The Texas Farm Bureau will be-
gin anew Agricultmral Market Edu-
cation Program on April 1 of this
year. The program will offer basic
and intermediate educaion on futures
market hedging, options trading and
other risk management techniques.
A combination of low market
prices and weather related disasters
has left much of Texas agriculture in
a real financial bind. There is just too
much risk in agriculture, and it is
believed this program will give mem-
bers more risk management tools. It
will focus on the basics and the "how
to get started" questions that many
producers have about the furtures
market according to Vemie Glasson,
TFB Executive Director.

This week's query is from Mark
Ward. 3431 Covey Trail, Missouri
City. TX 77459. He is researching
the Heald family of Red River
County. William C. "Billy" Heald
bom 1855 Al., moved to Red River
County from Nevada Co., Arkansas
about 1880. His first wife was be-
lieved to have been the Salma P.
Heald (1865-1890) who is buried
beside him in Young's Chapel Cem-
etery. The children of this marriage
are believed to be: Nora Heald Grif-
fin, Mattie Heald Raulston. Laura
Heald Holden and Charles W. Heald.
Billy later married again (to Emma
Young) and their children were Dela
May and Edna and possible a son
Bryant. Billy's last wife was Jotie
and their children wre Bessie Heald
Harp and Hattie and Dwight Heald.
Mr. Ward would like to hear from
any'To who has connections to this
Heald family.
If you would like to write Mr.
Ward, please write him at the
above address.
If you have a query you would
like to have placed in this column,
please send it to the Red River
